Candidate's Frequently Asked Questions
About Beck/Eastwood
1. What kind of services does Beck/Eastwood provide?
B/E helps companies in information technology, professional services and product manufacturing to build sales/marketing teams, technical and manufacturing management, IS and IT professionals, including software programmers, financial management on local, regional, national and international basis. Most of these are full time company positions, but B/E also supplies consulting and contract positions, as well.
2. Does the company or the individual pay your fees?
Client companies pay our search fees. Registry with B/E is free!
3. How does an individual register with B/E?
If you're a degreed professional with over 2 years' professional experience, save a copy of your resume from your word processor and click the link 'submit resume' on our home page. There's a space provided to paste your resume in and we download to our database daily.
4. Where are your available positions located?
While many of our positions are based in S. CA, we have great opportunities all over North America.
5. What types of companies does B/E work with?
We work in a variety of industries, mainly information technology companies. We studiously avoid branding B/E as 'specialists' in a particular industry, as having all the 'players' in that industry would present a conflict of interests when trying to recruit for client companies.
6. Do you have positions for people with limited or no experience?
No. We work with people with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
7. Do ALL of your client companies require a Bachelor's degree?
Currently, well over 90% of the positions we staff require a Bachelor's degree.
8. I sell insurance, but want to sell software--can B/E help me?
The value of our service to our client companies is to match very specific backgrounds to their profiles, so we're not a very likely vehicle to reposition someone's whole career. While professional skills ARE portable, our clients don't invest paying a premium to a search firm AND having to train a person in their line of business.
9. How does B/E's search process work for me?
Once databased, our candidates are qualified on every assignment we take to create a long list. That's the point we call you to determine if it's a fit from your end. B/E doesn't invest time cold-calling companies to get one individual an interview. We work the other way, finding just the right person for a specific position.
10. I'm open to relocating. Can B/E help me to find employment elsewhere?
Yes. Between the national searches for our own clients and our NPA search network, we're aware of many positions throughout the country and internationally. If you want even greater coverage, B/E can submit your resume to the NPA secure database, accessible only by our affiliated recruiters across country. This would likely increase the number of opportunities you would see.
